Ingredients:
- 3 cups of wholemeal spelt flour
- 1 TBSP of psyllium husk
- 1 TBSP of nutritional yeast
- 2 tsp of aluminium-free baking powder
- ½ tsp of good quality salt (I love to use herbal salt for this one, Herbamare is a good one)
- 3 tsp of raw apple cider vinegar
- 2 TBSP of avocado oil or grass-fed cultured ghee
- 1 ¼ cups of lukewarm water
- Optional: White and black sesame seeds to top
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees and line your baking tray with baking paper.
- In a large bowl, combine all your dry ingredients, except for the sesame seeds if using.
- Make a well in the middle of your combined dry ingredients, and slowly add in oil and apple cider vinegar followed by water.
- Mix well by giving your dough a good knead.
- Shape into a ball, put into your prepped baking dish and flatten into your desired bread shape.
- Indent with a knife right in the middle, so you have a line going through the middle of your bread starting and finishing about 2 fingers off your bread edges.
- Sprinkle generously with sesame seeds if using and bake for about 45 minutes or until your bread is golden brown, baked through and smells irresistibly.
