Healthy-Licious Spiced Chickpea Bread


  • 2 cups of chickpea flour
  • 2 tsp of baking soda
  • ½ – 1 tsp of ground chilli powder
  • 1 tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of ground or fresh, thinly sliced ginger
  • 1 TBSP of nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp of good quality salt (I love to use herbal salt for this one, Herbamare is a good one)
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 2.5 cups of filtered water
  • 1 TBSP of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup of kale, destemmed and thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup of fresh parsley
  • 3 TBSP of pepita seeds
  • 3 TBSP of sunflower seeds


  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees and line your baking dish with baking paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix your chickpea flour, baking soda, spices, nutritional yeast, salt and pepper until combined.
  3. Add your prepped kale, parsley, seeds, water, olive oil and apple cider vinegar and stir until dough forms a smooth consistency (no lumps, no air pockets).
  4. Transfer your dough into the prepared tray with baking paper and bake for about 30 minutes or until your bread is golden brown and wooden skewer inserted comes out clean.
  5. Let your bread cool fully before slicing. Enjoy!!!
